SATELLITE SERVICE

Global Phoneworks (GPW) keeps travelers connected in over 160 countries around the world with international cellular service. However, there may be times when your travel takes you beyond the reach of GSM. For these occasions, we offer satellite phone services that allow you to stay connected, no matter where you are - whether you are at sea or in a remote location.

GPW provides two satellite phone service options:

  • Dual-mode satellite/GSM mobile phone service through Thuraya
  • Global satellite service through Iridium.

Iridium

Iridium phone service provides true global coverage. Whether you are in a remote village without cellular coverage or in the middle of the ocean without landlines, you can use your Iridium phone to make and receive calls around the world.

  

Thuraya

Dual-mode Thuraya phones from GPW, provides benefits of both a GSM and a satellite phone. You have the option of roaming onto a local GSM network to place calls or using satellite service to make a call from anywhere within the Thuraya satellite coverage area.
